About The College
Acharya Narendra Dev College or ANDC has been operational under the University of Delhi since 1991. It is completely under the aegis of the government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi and is the only college in the university which is meant primarily for science. The college gets its name from Acharya Narendra Dev, a devoted educationist, reformist and social worker of modern India. Since its beginning in 1991, Acharya Narendra Dev College has nurtured and developed a strong students and alumni base having multiple success stories in terms of academics, corporate careers or social responsibility.

Admission Procedures
Admission into any of the courses available at Acharya Narendra Dev College requires candidates to fill up the Delhi University pre-admission form which is available at various distribution centres across the university including Acharya Narendra Dev College itself. Along with other details to be filled in the pre-admission form, the candidates are required to tick Acharya Narendra Dev College in the ‘option of colleges’ and submit the form. The acknowledgement slip of the pre-admission form should be preserved and produced at the time of admission.
Documents Required for Admission
Candidates who are selected for admission based on cut-offs or entrance test scores are required to submit the completed Admission Form given in the college prospectus along with the following original documents and their attested copies:
* Original Certificate of Class 12 or last qualifying examination issued by the Board or University. Provisional Certificate is accepted in case Original has not been issued.
* Mark Sheet of Class 12 or last qualifying examination.
* Document for verifying Date of Birth (Class 10 Pass Certificate).
* Character Certificate from School or College last attended.
* In case student has not studied Hindi till Class 10, then the college requires documentary evidence that the student has studied Hindi till Class 8.
* Caste Certificate if student belongs to SC or ST or OBC.
* Two recent passport size photographs.
Candidates who are already enrolled in the University of Delhi are required to provide their University Enrolment Number. In case the candidate is not able to provide any of the above documents at the time of admission, then the college may issue a provisional admission to the candidate and confirm admission only if the original documents are provided before the specified date.
Eligibility
Candidates should be 17 years old as on 1st October 2009. The vice chancellor can approve relaxation of up to 1 year for any candidate.
The selection of candidates is done on the basis of Class 12 marks or Entrance Test scores. The cut offs are based on both the theory and practical marks and thus, the candidates are required to fill in their total marks for each subject in the pre-admission form.
Following are the minimum eligibility criteria required for admission into each course:
B. Sc. (Hons) Mathematics
* Minimum 45% average marks in Mathematics, 1 language and 2 electives (M+1L+2E)
* Percentage marks in PCME.
* Minimum 50% marks in Mathematics which is a compulsory subject.
B. Sc. (Hons) Physics or Chemistry or Electronics
* Minimum 55% average marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM).
* Minimum 40% marks in English which is a compulsory subject.
B. Sc. (Hons) Botany or Zoology
* Minimum 55% average marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Biotechnology (PCB / PCBT).
* Minimum 40% marks in English which is a compulsory subject.
* Percentage marks in Biology.
B. Sc. (Hons) Computer Science (Self Financed Course)
* Minimum 55% average marks in 4 subjects including 1 language and Mathematics.
* Minimum 60% marks in Mathematics.
* For science students: Average percentage marks in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Computer Science. For non-science students: Average percentage marks in Mathematics, 1 Language and 2 Electives.
* There is 5% additional weightage for candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
B. Sc. Program in Life Sciences and Applied Life Sciences (Sericulture)
* Minimum 50% average marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Biotechnology (PCB / PCBT).
* Minimum 40% marks in English which is a compulsory subject.
* Minimum 40% average marks in PCBE.
B. Sc. Program in Physical Sciences
* Minimum 45% average marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM).
* Minimum 40% marks in English which is a compulsory subject.
* Minimum 40% marks in PCME.
B. Sc. Program in Applied Physical Science
* Minimum 45% average marks in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Computer Science (PCM / PMCS).
* Minimum 40% marks in English which is a compulsory subject.
* Minimum 50% marks in PCME.
* Percentage marks in Physics for B. Sc. (Hons) Physics and Electronics and Percentage marks in Chemistry for B. Sc. (Hons) Chemistry.
B. Sc. Program in Applied Physical Science (Computer Science)
* Minimum 45% average marks in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Computer Science (PCM / PMCS).
* Minimum 40% marks in English which is a compulsory subject.
* Minimum 50% marks in PCME.
* Percentage marks in Mathematics.
B. Com. (Hons)
* Minimum 45% average marks in 1 Language and 3 Electives (1L+3E).
* Average percentage marks for 1 Language and 3 Electives where the Electives can be from Mathematics, Accounts, Business Studies, Economics, Computer Science and Applications. The percentage requirement would be 5% less for Science and Humanities streams.
Reservation
1. The college reserves 22.5% of the total number of seats for Scheduled Castes and Schedules Tribes (SC – 15% and ST – 7.5%). SC / ST candidates residing in NCT, Delhi and Union Territories are exempted from payment of the University examination fees.
2. 5% of the total number of seats are reserved for the children / widows / wives of personnel of the Armed Forces, killed or disables in wars.
3. 3% of the total number seats are reserved for candidates who are physically challenged.
4. The reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBC) is being worked out by the Central Education Institution Act. Any candidate seeking this benefit is required to submit an original OBC certificate which states that the candidate does not belong to the creamy layer.
5. 5% of the total number of seats will be offered on the basis of sports and co-curricular distinctions.
Placement / Jobs
Big corporate names like Tata Consultancy Limited (TCL), Wipro, IBM Daksh, Apex Laboratories Limited, Kotak Mahindra Old Mutual Life Insurance Limited, Wipro BPO, Regal Information Technology Pvt. Ltd. (Punj Lloyd Group) and City Group have recruited students from the college in the past.
